Innovator of world-record-breaking saltwater flies, Michael Robrahn knows what he's talking about. His beautifully crafted and expertly designed bluewater flies are ideal for catching everything from dorado to marlin. Michael was trained by world-famous Andre Puyans. Host of annual fishing trips to Costa Rica, Michael is also a staple of many ISE Shows.
Someone talked him into taking a saltwater fishing trip to Mexico in the mid 80s where he was instantaneously convinced that saltwater fishing is much more interesting than chasing trout in a river.
Robrahn furthered his new passion by developing a unique style that lead to a line of world record-breaking deceivers that get optimum attention in the water and also have the ability to shed water quickly. Using a combination of synthetic materials and buck tail, along with over-sized eyes and strong Gamagatsu hooks, Robrahn’s blue water flies are ideal for everything from Dorado to marlin.
Robrahn is a frequent tyer at IFC shows and has been very visible at the Fly Tackle Dealer Show, as well. He lives near San Francisco Bay with his wife, Cathy, and works as a medical technician on days not ending in saltwater.
